Ideas - Day 40

I have had lots of inspiration lately for lots of things to make. So much so that my brain went into overload and I just had to get all my ideas down onto paper.

I am going to make some more tea cups but I think this time I will make them in slightly different shapes like tall ones, short ones, fat ones and thin ones :-) I also want to make some mini tea pots to acompany them!

The brooch backs have now been attached to my tea cups that I have already made, painted and varnished. They are going to be put onto some mottled blue card that I bought the other day.

Also I have got a rather large amount of cashmere wool that I got incredibly cheap at the market (£10 for roughly 3 bin bags of fabric but not all was cashmere) which is now going to be used for bags and scarves etc.

Our house also could do with a little bit of TLC at the moment so my making may have to go on hold for a while.

Marvin In His New Home - Day 38

This is where day 38 post should be but at the moment it is temporarily deleted by blogger as it has had a few problems. I am hoping it will come back but we will see.

I will re do this post along the same lines as was originally posted

Black And White Necklace - Day 39

I have finally got around to making something with my handmade beads that I made a little while ago! I took a photograph of the items that I was going to use to make the necklace. ( A couple of beads I couldn't use as the holes were too small for the ribbon!)

I have used three of my handmade clay beads for this necklace with a selection of black and silver coloured beads and some thin black ribbon that I think is satin ribbon! This was the result...

I wanted to thread these beads onto waxed cord but I found out the I don't have any and will have to buy some more! I think that the ribbon works just as well too ... what do you think?

All I need to do now is add a fastening and then it is complete :-)

I also now need to buy some more thin ribbon as I think I have ran out! That means more parcels in the post. Yippie :-)

Talking of things coming in the post do any of you love getting post? I absolutely love it. I have been rooting around in my treasure trove of a craft room and came across an awful lot of cards for writing letters to people. This got me thinking how nice it would be to have pen pals who share in the world of crafting? Maybe also send little samples of things we have been using or making every now and again. I would really like to use these cards and who knows even make a crafty friend or two. Leave a comment if you are interested or send a message through etsy.

Happy blogging everyone

Business Cards - Day 37

I am thinking of getting some business cards made but I am not really sure where to get them from or what photograph to use. There is MOO which print beautiful business cards but are quite expensive. I have also been told about 123Print who also do business cards but a bit cheaper.

I really like this photograph with my details on the back? I am really not sure!

Do you have and suggestions? Or recommend anywhere to get great business cards in the UK?

Thank you

Brooches And Jewellery In The Making - Day 36

I have been finishing off varnishing some of my handmade clay tea cup brooches and other beads and buttons that I have painted.

All that is needed for these is a brooch back to be added to each and then mounted onto this card that I bought in town at the weekend.

Which one is YOUR favourite?  Leave a comment at the bottom :-)

This is some of my collection of hand painted clay beads, buttons and other bits that are ready to be made into some jewellery! I also used this picture to create my current banner - What do you think?

First Etsy Item Sold - Day 35

I was so excited to find out that I had sold my very first item on Etsy YAY :-)

Marvin has now got a new home to call his on and is currently travelling on his way there.

I am always sad to let go of the lovely things I have made but then I think how much joy they will bring someone else and then I am happy to see them leave. Also it makes more space for other things to be made :-)

I have also made a new banner using one of my photographs of the beads I make and the paint programme - very low tech I now but I don't have photoshop at the moment and paint does the job!

What do you think of it?

Blogging 365 - Day 34

As some of you may already know I have challenged myself to blogging every day until the 1 year anniversary of my blog. So far it has been going well and I have past the one month mark which I am really pleased with . However I have a question to put to you. What happens if my Internet is down and I cannot post my blog for that particular day, have I failed my challenge due to unforeseen circumstances or does this not count?

I was really disappointed that this happened yesterday and that I now need to post retrospectively.

Anyway yesterdays post was just going to be about what I found at the market and other things following on from day 33 blog post.

I went to get my hair cut and changed my hair style slightly. I had a fair bit chopped off the bottom so it is more or less one length and I had a thin full fringe put in. I also picked up some lovely vintage sparkly buttons and a bag of fabric that was being sold as a job lot.

I am going to make some bags and things out of some of the fabric and purses too. In the bag I was surprised to find some woolen cashmere fabric and all sorts of fat quarter size samples of suit material - looks like very good quality expensive fabric but what to do with it? Any suggestions?

Please leave a comment, I love to know what you think and have a chat
