Felting 2 - Day 27

Did you guess what I was felting from the pictures in yesterdays post?

Did you think it was a butterfly? Yes? Well this is the picture of what I felted...

Butterfly and flowers in felt by StephieStephie
I have felted some little circles to act as flowers. I am making a wall hanging out of felt. Below is a close up of the flowers that are going to be added to the wall handing. They are not fully felted as they eventually will be added to a background and then fully felted to this.

I will be showing the background for this tomorrow.

Tea Cups At The Ready - Day 24

This is a bit of a late blog today as I have been getting ready to go camping this weekend! Very excited as we are going to Longleat safari and then camping somewhere near there.

I have not managed to varnish as many of my newly made clay bits I would have liked so It's going to be short.

These tea cups are what I have varnished so far...

All I will need to do next is add a few brooch backs and then they will be ready to sell :-)

You can also see Day 21 and Day 23 for how these came to life.

Tea And Beads ... And Chocolate Shhh!!! - Day 23

I am very excited about the things I have been making today. So much so that I have actually stopped half way though my painting of my handmade beads so that I can share what I have been doing with you all.

My work table is never tidy when I'm making beads so please excuse the mess :-)

This is a picture from blog day 21 of 365 blogging showing some of the things I had made from a bit of leftover clay.

Clay in the drying process by StephieStephie
It's not the most exciting of pictures but read on and you will see what has now become of some of these things :-)

I am going to make a brooch out of the piece in the center with the pink flower on it. If you are quick off the mark you will notice that it is the round, flat piece of clay in the first picture. I think it looks far more attractive now that it is painted. All of the beads and buttons that you see in this photograph have been handmade by me out of clay and will soon be made into different forms of jewellery.

This is a photograph of what is to eventually become a brooch which will be unique for that oh so lucky person!

This is a handful of black and white beads that I have made that also now need to be varnished.

Last but definitely not least are these. They are my favourite and look amazing now that they are painted! The photograph does not do these justice nor can it portray how much cuteness that these little brooch tea cups hold.

I can not wait to finish these and make them into brooches.

What do you think? Do you like them?

Thank you for reading and see you again tomorrow :-)

Lovely Blogs I Love To Follow - Day 22

Today has been a day of tidying and trying to do things that have been left for a long time.

My craft room has been trying to get a little bit of an organisational makeover with not much success! I am sure that it will happen one day in the future just not right now :-)

I have also been adding things to my blog.

First of all you can now follow Stephie's Treasure Trove via email with the new widget I have added to the right hand side of this blog. All you have to do is enter your email address and you will get updates for the newest posts on this blog.

Second of all I have now added a 'Lovely Blogs I Love To Follow' page to this blog. This contains a list of other bloggers that create the most wonderful things. I always look forward to reading these peoples posts and thought that it was time to share this with the people who read my blog!

Today this is what made me smile the most...

These are a few pictures of the things I will mainly be making into brooches but some will also be made into little bracelets, necklaces and rings. I will post these when they have been completed in one of my later posts but for now this is what I have...

Hammerhead badges by StephieStephie
I like the way that the black backing felt makes the colours stand out more and also unites them as a series! They are my fleet of RAINBOW HAMMERHEAD BADGES!

These have been made in red, yellow, pink, green, orange, purple, blue and white with two of each. These are a trial and will be added to my shop shortly.

OOooo so I have just found out that I have been awarded this by a very lovely blogger named Valerie. You can visit her over at valvalvoom for her blog.

Thank you ever so much Valerie, I love your blog and I am very grateful to have been chosen.

So the rules for this award are that once you have won you are supposed to share 7 wonderful things about myself with you all. Then you pass on the award to 15 lucky bloggers!

So here goes...

1) I LOVE crafting. I think about all the lovely things I could make all the time out of absolutely anything. I find the littlest thing and think 'Ooooo what could I make out of this?'

2) My favourite colour is purple. I even have purple coloured boots with a purple knit around the top - My favourite pair of footwear.

3) I am a Chemist. I graduated last summer with a BSc in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry. I enjoy the mental challenge that science gives me.

4) I adore Italian food with the vast array of dished they have. Ooo I think after this I'm going to cook myself an Italian dish. Yum!

5) I really want to travel the world and visit as many places I can. All I need to do is save save save!

6) My ambition is to eventually set up my own crafting company so that it will become my main source of income - Time will tell.

Cubes - Day 17

I am not entirely sure where this blog actually went although I was extremely tired when I posted it. This is what the post actually was...

_______________________________________________________________________________

I found a little bit of striped fabric and I was wondering what to do with it? I had been making some more of my hammerhead dolls to put into the boutiqur in town so I was thinking af some kind of plush toy maybe? Anyway I was getting pretty tired and just wanted to make something simple so here it is...

They still need painting, drying, varnishing, drying, varnishing and then some more drying but the results afterwards will be gorgeous!

When I make things I very rarely make one, it's more like I stop when my hands hurt or I have run out so the following pictures are the rest that I made :-) ......

Vintage Buttons & New W.I.P Tray - Day 12

OOOooo today I have had fun shopping in town finding lovely things in the charity shops. I love to have a hunt in charity shops for old buttons ann other equally important thing.

These are what I bought today...

My new work in progress tray with buttons everywhere :-)  StephieStephie
I am hoping that this new tray with help me keep my work in progress relatively tidy when I am making so my husband doesn't get too grumpy with me :-)

This green pot I really like! I am going to put a candle in it later and have it flicker away while I craft.

Green pottery find :-) StephieStephie
I also picked up some other vintage buttons from between the 1910's to 1940's that I just could not resist buying...

These buttons were my last buy. They are vintage buttons from between 1930's to 1940's. There were only three of these and were a little more pricey but well worth it...

I just cannot resist buttons what so ever. I think it comes from always playing with my Nanna's blue button box when I was a child - What fun we had!
